Moldova has joined the international declaration for the protection of humanitarian personnel, reaffirming its commitment to international law and safe humanitarian action. Gheorghe Leuca, Moldova’s permanent representative to the United Nations, signed the document on behalf of Chisinau, IPN reported.
Australia, Brazil, Colombia, Indonesia, Japan, Jordan, Sierra Leone, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom drafted the Act for the Protection of Humanitarian Personnel in consultation with the UN and humanitarian organizations.
The declaration calls on governments to safeguard humanitarian workers and guarantee the swift, safe, and unhindered delivery of aid to civilians in conflict zones.
