The Republic of Moldova prioritizes global peace and security. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mihai Popsoi conveyed this message during a meeting with Robert Floyd, Executive Secretary of the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO), who is on a working visit to Chisinau.
During their discussions, the officials emphasized the need to strengthen international security and uphold commitments to preventing the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction. Popsoi reaffirmed Moldova’s strong support for the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty.
“CTBTO’s experience is extremely valuable, and the Republic of Moldova prioritizes global peace and security. We will consistently reiterate our commitment to these objectives,” Popsoi said.

They also discussed cooperation on using the International Monitoring System (IMS) for earthquake detection. Popsoi welcomed the initiative to establish a data center to enhance Moldova’s capabilities in this field.
Robert Floyd encouraged Moldovan specialists to participate in CTBTO training programs and stressed the importance of developing local expertise. He thanked Moldova for its clear stance on non-proliferation.
“Moldova is a reliable partner, a solid pillar in this field, and can always count on our expertise,” Floyd emphasized.
Moldova remains firmly committed to preventing nuclear weapons proliferation and strengthening global security.
