Relations between the Republic of Moldova and Romania continue to strengthen, driven by friendship, shared values, and concrete projects that bring the two countries closer, Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu said at the World Economic Forum in Davos.

Munteanu made the statement during a meeting with a Romanian delegation led by Foreign Minister Oana Toiu and Minister of Investments and European Projects Dragos Pislaru. He thanked Romanian authorities for their consistent support, including throughout Moldova’s European integration process.

The prime minister noted that Romania was Moldova’s main trade and investment partner last year. Bilateral trade exceeded three billion euros, while Romanian investments in Moldova reached around 35 million euros.

Munteanu also stressed that joint projects in energy, infrastructure, education, healthcare, and culture are strengthening ties with the European Union and directly contributing to an improved quality of life for citizens.
