The Republic of Moldova will establish a Center of Excellence in Artificial Intelligence integrated into the European network of AI hubs and factories. Authorities will place this so-called “artificial intelligence antenna” within the future Hi-Tech Park, IPN reports.
According to Doina Nistor, Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization, this hub aims to accelerate the adoption of advanced technologies across strategic industries, agriculture, healthcare, and government systems.
In collaboration with Brussels-based partners, the ministry formed a working group to attract dedicated resources for developing artificial intelligence in Moldova. The initiative will create a mid-sized AI hub that provides infrastructure and advanced AI solutions for startups, universities, researchers, and students—helping drive innovation and scientific development.

“Artificial intelligence now shapes the evolution of IT—and beyond: industries, economies, and civil societies across the globe. Moldova wants to be part of this technological revolution,” stated Doina Nistor.
The minister also announced that starting July 16, citizens can apply for funding under the Support Program for Digital Innovation and Technology Startups (2025–2030). The program introduces a new non-reimbursable financing mechanism, complementing investment funds and targeting local startups. The goal is to promote innovative business development, create highly skilled jobs, and strengthen Moldova’s competitive digital economy.
