Moldova has been selected to host its first European Digital Innovation Hub, marking a major step in the digital transformation of local businesses. Under the initiative, authorities will invest a total of 2 million euros to support the digitalization of enterprises.
The Moldovan government, through the Organization for Entrepreneurship Development, will allocate 1 million euros for this purpose. European funding will add another 1 million euros, bringing total investment to 2 million euros. Authorities will direct the funds to small and medium sized enterprises through digitalization vouchers and grants.
A strong partnership between the Association for the Development of Electronic Communications and Innovative Technologies and the Technical University of Moldova made this achievement possible.
The Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization said the initiative proves that cooperation between the associative and academic sectors can position Moldova as a relevant player at the European level. Through the hub, authorities aim to provide resources, expertise and capital to turn innovation into a practical reality.
The e Governance Agency will act as the National Contact Point for the Digital Europe Programme. The agency will support applicants by guiding them through the application process, clarifying eligibility and participation conditions, helping to create consortia, and providing information on calls, events and relevant training opportunities.
