The Republic of Moldova will receive a $3.6 million grant to support reforms in public procurement. The government approved an agreement with the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the International Development Association, IPN reports.
According to the Ministry of Finance, the funding will contribute to a more transparent, digitized, and sustainable public procurement system. Planned initiatives include investments in electronic procurement platforms, staff training, and the centralized procurement units at the central and local levels.
âIn terms of economic impact, the grant supports the creation of a level playing field for economic operators, reduces the risks of corruption, and increases value for money in public procurement,â the project documentation states.
