The Republic of Moldova will receive a non-repayable grant of €10.008 million from the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria for the 2027–2029 period. The funding will support the implementation of national programs for the prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and care of people affected by HIV and tuberculosis.
According to the Ministry of Health, €4.5 million will be allocated to tuberculosis-related programs, while €5.5 million will support HIV-related activities.
The authorities have also approved the 2027–2029 Transition Plans for the national HIV and tuberculosis response. The documents outline measures to ensure the continuity of prevention, diagnostic, treatment, and care services, while strengthening the sustainability of national programs as external funding is gradually reduced.
The National TB/AIDS Coordination Council serves as Moldova’s national mechanism for the strategic coordination, monitoring, and oversight of the country’s response to HIV and tuberculosis. It brings together public authorities, healthcare institutions, civil society organizations, and development partners.
