The Embassy of the Republic of Moldova to the Islamic Republic of Iran, based in Baku, has warned Moldovan citizens to avoid all travel to Iran because of rising internal tensions and increased security risks.

The embassy advises Moldovan citizens who are already in Iran to contact diplomatic representatives by phone or email and report their location in case authorities need to organize an urgent evacuation.

Citizens can leave Iran by air on regular commercial flights or overland through Turkey or Armenia. However, the land border with Azerbaijan remains closed, and evacuation through Azerbaijani territory requires prior authorization from local authorities.

In emergency situations, Moldovan citizens can contact the Consular Section of the embassy at +994 50 228 51 35 or by email at consulat.baku@mfa.gov.md.
