An agreement between Moldova and the European Union on the country’s accession to the EU’s Customs Program on cooperation in the customs sector today was considered and approved by the Parliament’s commission for economy, budget, and finances. The parliament is to ratify the document.
The agreement’s goal is to strengthen the collaboration relations between Moldova’s Customs Service and the customs authorities from EU’s member states, in the context of the country’s European integration commitments, as well as to boost the cooperation with the customs authorities from other signatory countries. Among the cooperation actions, there are the consolidation of the administrative capacity and in the information field, development and running of the European electronic systems, implementation of innovations in the customs policy sector.
The first equipment has been already delivered and it will provide the connection between the national fisc systems and the European ones.
