The Republic of Moldova will join the Convention for the Pacific Settlement of International Disputes, signed in The Hague on October 18, 1907. Justice Minister Veronica Mihailov-Moraru announced the decision.
She explained that this step will give Moldova access to mechanisms such as mediation, conciliation, inquiry, and international arbitration through the Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA). Moldova will also be able to appoint its arbitrators within the PCA.
According to the minister, this move reflects Moldova’s commitment to promoting global peace and security and strengthening its role in international diplomacy and law.
Mihailov-Moraru also emphasized the importance of engaging in mechanisms that encourage peaceful dispute resolution, especially in today’s conflict-affected world.
