Several consumers across Moldova have reported problems with their energy bills, saying that invoices sometimes include amounts they have already paid or show figures that differ from those displayed in their banking apps.

In one case, a consumer reported on social media receiving a bill for 548 lei, while their banking application showed a payment of 331.39 lei made two days earlier.

The consumer said they had no outstanding debts and had already paid their obligations for previous months. They also said they had received three bills within approximately three weeks and could not understand why the latest invoice again included an amount they believed had already been paid.

“I paid two bills, and then today this bill arrived, and apparently I still owe the amount that was paid in August,” the consumer wrote in a message published on social media.

On September 7, BANI.MD contacted Energocom for an explanation, asking why previously made payments are not always reflected promptly in the supplier’s records and how amounts that consumers say they have already paid can appear again on their bills.

Energocom has not yet commented on the cases reported by consumers.
