Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Affairs Minister Mihai Popsoi met with Qatar’s State Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al-Khulaifi, in Prague to discuss enhancing economic and commercial cooperation between Moldova and Qatar. They explored opportunities to attract Qatari investments in Moldova’s agro-industrial sector and national infrastructure.
Deputy PM Popsoi informed the Qatari minister of Moldova’s interest in establishing a direct air route between Chisinau and Doha to strengthen political, economic, and cultural ties between the two regions.
He also welcomed the appointment of Qatar’s new ambassador to Moldova, Turki bin Abdullah Zaid Al-Mahmoud. He also reiterated the invitation for Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani to visit Moldova.

From August 30 to September 1, Popsoi participated in the 19th edition of the GLOBSEC Forum in Prague, held under the auspices of Czech President Petr Pavel.
