The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Moldova has issued a travel alert for the Russian Federation, IPN reports, citing a worsening security situation and increasing reports of restrictive measures targeting foreign nationals, including Moldovan citizens.
The Ministry warned that Russian authorities have detained individuals at border crossings and during internal raids. Officials have reportedly applied laws arbitrarily, transferred some citizens to pre-trial detention centers—including the Multifunctional Migration Center—and imposed administrative or criminal charges without presenting clear evidence.
In response, in coordination with the Moldovan Embassy in Moscow, the Ministry urged citizens to avoid non-essential travel to Russia.
