The Moldovan authorities have identified over 119 treaties signed within the CIS framework that “do not represent value for the citizens of the republic.”
According to a government press secretary, the legal procedures for dissolving 79 of the agreements have been initiated so far.
“Today, the government approved the termination of 8 agreements signed within the CIS framework. These agreements are outdated and do not meet the current realities. Because our country’s policies do not resonate with the objectives set by the countries that signed these agreements,” said government spokesman Daniel Voda.
The agreements in question are an agreement on a coordinated policy in the natural gas transit field, an agreement on cooperation to provide technical and material assistance to the competent bodies in the fight against terrorism and other forms of extremism, an agreement on cooperation between the CIS countries in the energy efficiency and energy saving field, an agreement on cooperation in the fight against the growing incidence of diabetes, an agreement on cooperation in the settlement, of the HIV infection problems, an agreement on cooperation in the field of education in the electricity sector, an agreement on cooperation in the field of education in the CIS, an agreement on cooperation in the field of energy efficiency and energy saving.

Daniel Voda said that Moldova has already dissolved more than 55 agreements within the CIS, while the CIS executive secretariat confirmed the termination of the legal validity of 36 treaties.
The press secretary said that Moldova has signed 282 agreements within the Commonwealth.
“All these agreements are analyzed from the point of view of their usefulness for the citizens and institutions that signed them,” Voda concluded.
