Member of Parliament of the Republic of Moldova and newly appointed head of the Moldova Ukraine Parliamentary Friendship Group, Alexander Trubka, met with the Ambassador of Ukraine to Moldova, Paun Rahovei. During the meeting, Trubka said he is ready, together with his colleagues, to visit Kyiv in February.
Ambassador Rahovei said the talks focused on key areas of bilateral cooperation, including the development of interparliamentary dialogue and the maintenance of close political coordination between Ukraine and Moldova on their path toward European integration.
The two sides also discussed the transit of Ukrainian agricultural products through Moldova, the expansion of veterinary and sanitary control points, online audits by representatives of Moldova National Agency for Food Safety to accredit Ukrainian producers, the establishment of joint ventures for processing Ukrainian agricultural products in Moldova, as well as deeper cultural cooperation and the preservation of the Ukrainian language and cultural identity within the education system.
“During the meeting, I expressed sincere gratitude to the leadership of the Republic of Moldova and to the Moldovan people for the substantial support provided to Ukraine and to Ukrainian citizens who found temporary shelter in a neighboring country under the difficult conditions of Russias full scale war against our state,” Rahovei said.
Alexander Trubka confirmed his willingness, together with his colleagues, to visit Kyiv in February 2026 in order to further develop parliamentary cooperation and bilateral economic relations.
The Parliament of the Republic of Moldova has established 54 friendship groups with foreign parliaments, including the Parliamentary Friendship Group with Ukraine.
