Moldovan MPs Visit NATO Headquarters for Talks on Security and Cooperation

Several MPs from the delegation of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly paid a study visit to NATO Headquarters in Brussels. The delegation included parliamentarians from different factions and members of specialized committees on national security, defense and public order, European integration, and foreign policy.

The NATO Parliamentary Assembly invited the delegation to the visit, which took place on March 16–17, 2026. Participants held discussions with representatives of the organization on cooperation between the Alliance and the Republic of Moldova, regional security in the Black Sea area in the context of the war in Ukraine, hybrid threats, the Alliance’s political priorities following the NATO Summit in The Hague 2025, and strengthening resilience.

The MPs also met with Viorel Cibotaru, head of the Mission of the Republic of Moldova to NATO.

They discussed developments in political dialogue and practical cooperation between the Republic of Moldova and NATO, opportunities to deepen the partnership, and the importance of parliamentary dialogue in strengthening regional security and stability, according to the parliament’s press service.
