The Moldovan Parliament is holding a closed-door session. Lawmakers were checked to ensure they were not carrying any recording devices, while printed copies of the draft legislation were provided to them before the debate. The printed documents will be destroyed after the meeting.
The session concerns a legislative initiative regarding the size of the National Army. MPs signed documents undertaking not to disclose its contents. Access to the meeting room was restricted, and heightened security measures were in place throughout the Parliament building.
The lawmakers said they had not been able to read the annexes to the draft before entering the meeting room. They told Realitatea that the public should not be concerned about their safety and security.
More details on what MPs said about the closed-door session and the need to hold the discussions behind closed doors are available in the attached material.
