Moldovan Students Win Medals at International Math and Informatics Olympiads

Moldova’s Olympic team brought home a silver medal, a bronze medal, and an honorable mention from the 66th International Mathematics Olympiad, held July 10–20 in Sunshine Coast, Australia. Marius Cerlat earned silver, Alin Popescu won bronze, and Robert Barbuta received an honorable mention. All three study at theOrizontTheoretical High School in Durlesti, Chisinau.

The competition brought together 630 students from 110 countries, with Moldova represented by a team of six students and two accompanying teachers from Chisinau.

Separately, Anastasia Corsac, also a student atOrizont,received an honorable mention at the European Girls’ Olympiad in Informatics, held July 14–20 in Bonn, Germany. The event hosted 227 participants from 60 countries, with Moldova represented by three girls and two teachers.
