Moldovan Wine Exports Hit Decade-High, Reach New Global Markets

Moldovan winemakers are expanding their global reach, with exports hitting their highest value in the last decade and gaining ground in key new markets such as Germany, the United States, and the Netherlands.

“In 2024, the Republic of Moldova recorded its highest wine export value in the last ten years—over $235 million, equivalent to 4 billion lei,” said government spokesman Daniel Voda.

“145 million liters were exported to 73 countries, marking a 22% increase compared to the previous year. The most impressive growth was in bottled wine exports, which rose by 46% in value. Moldova’s entry into new markets reflects a maturing and increasingly valuable wine sector.”
