Moldovans are among the top hardworking nations in Europe

In 2024, Moldova ranks second in Europe in terms of average weekly working hours, with 41 hours, according to Eurostat data published by the iData platform. It means Moldovans work more than citizens of any European Union member state.

Turkey holds the top position with an average of 43 hours worked per week, followed by Moldova and Kosovo, both with 41 hours. These figures reflect a strong work ethic in the region, especially when compared to Western European countries.

At the opposite end, the Netherlands reports the fewest working hours—just 32.1 hours per week. Germany and Denmark follow closely, with an average of 33.9 hours per week.
