Moldovans holding Romanian citizenship could travel visa-free to the US from 2025

Andrei Muraru, Bucharest’s ambassador to Washington, announced that Romania formally meets the conditions for the Visa Waiver and travel regime liberalization.

The Romanian diplomat stated that they had met the last necessary condition, according to Agerpres. The American authorities will now assess the situation and announce the outcome soon.

“The United States fiscal year has ended, and Romania has fulfilled the last remaining condition. We expect confirmation from our American partners in the coming period,” Muraru informed.

The ambassador estimates that the first Romanians could travel visa-free to the US in 2025. The official estimates that, in addition, to travel liberalization, trade and investment will increase, and airlines will launch more direct flights from Romania to the United States.
