Moldovans Will Receive New Passport Models. Authorities Have Initiated Procedures to Amend the Law on Identity Documents.

“The development of the project stems from the actions outlined to ensure the process of Moldova’s accession to the European Union by introducing new models of passports and travel documents,” specialists from the Ministry of Internal Affairs stated.

It should be noted that Moldovan citizens will also begin receiving new identity cards in the coming months. These new documents, called “identity cards,” will be the size of a bank card and contain both printed and electronic information about the holder.

According to the Public Services Agency, electronic identity cards can be used for identification within Moldova as travel documents in countries that recognize them.
