Eugen Osmochescu stated during “Reinvent Moldova 2.0,” organized by the Realitatea Media Group, that authorities in Chisinau are building economic projections based on multiple scenarios through the end of 2026, given an international context marked by uncertainty and conflicts.
“Geopolitical developments remain a major risk factor, but also an opportunity. Let us hope that all wars will end in due time. But we must be smart and take advantage of any situation, no matter how critical. Every crisis also offers a certain kind of strength,” Osmochescu said.
He noted that the Republic of Moldova has already faced several crises in recent years and has managed to cope with them, including in cybersecurity. According to the minister, during the adoption of legislation in 2025, the country faced a record number of cyberattacks.
“I don’t know how many of you are aware of the figure, but we are talking about up to one billion cyberattacks targeting the state, authorities, the private sector, and every citizen,” he stated.
He emphasized that, with support from the European Union, its member states, and private sector partners, including those from the United States, Moldova has built a “cyber shield” capable of responding to such threats.
