Moldova’s European integration process, reform priorities and future challenges were discussed by Prime Minister Vasile Tofan and ambassadors of European Union member states.
According to the EU Delegation to Chisinau, the European Union and its member states continue to support Moldova in its efforts to build a democratic, prosperous and resilient future.
“EU Ambassador Iwona Piorko had the honor of hosting Prime Minister Vasile Tofan at a working lunch with the ambassadors of the EU member states. The discussions focused on advancing the country’s European path, reform priorities and future challenges,” the EU Delegation said.
Moldova received EU candidate status in June 2022. In June 2026, the country opened negotiations on the first cluster, “Fundamentals.”
Shortly afterwards, in July 2026, the European Union and Moldova also opened negotiations on the cluster covering external relations.
The European Commission has described these developments as important steps in Moldova’s EU accession process.
