Moldova offers anglers a diverse array of fishing destinations that blend relaxation with sport. The country’s lakes provide modern amenities, pricing, and carefully managed fishing regulations designed to preserve the local fish population. Anglers can choose from cozy lakeside retreats to renowned fishing spots that host impressive varieties of species.
1. The Romanesti Lake
Located just 30 minutes from Romanesti village, this lakeside retreat offers anglers both relaxation and fishing. Anglers can rent cozy cabins (from 1,500 MDL) or rustic huts (from 1,000 MDL) that allow overnight stays.
The site has grilling stations, spaces for small events, a picnic shop, recreational activities like billiards, hydro bicycles, SUPs, and canoes. Here, fish do not require immediate release; anglers can take their catch home to grill fresh. The atmosphere blends leisure with a focused fishing experience.
2. The Corjova Lake
The Corjova lake showcases an impressive variety of fish. Since 2021, officials have stocked it with “carp,” “amur,” “tolstolob,” and “novac,” totaling around 1,200 kg. In later years, mirror carp (crapi oglinda) were added along with larger specimens, reaching almost 7 tons of fish—some over 10 kg, with a few even exceeding 20 kg and 25 kg.
Anglers can choose between retention fishing and a catch-and-release option. Daily fishing hours run from 06:00 to 18:00, with overnight sessions from 18:00 to 06:00. Strict limits and immediate release rules protect some species. Daily fees start at 400 MDL for 12 hours and increase for longer sessions.

3. Tortuga Camping Fishing
Near Chisinau, adjacent to South Railway Station, Tortuga Camping Fishing offers a relaxed and accessible venue. Anglers pay 100 MDL per fishing rod during regular hours or 150 MDL for a 24-hour session.
Anglers can keep their catch for free or release it to earn bonus sessions at half price or free fishing days. Recently, the location introduced ten Russian sturgeon (sturioni rusesc). All sturgeon—and other species like carp (crapi) and amur (cosasi)—must be released immediately if caught below the specified weight limits.
