More than 100 companies from different sectors of the economy are taking part in “Entrepreneur Expo 2024”

More than 100 companies from various economic sectors, with international experts, are participating in the third edition of “Entrepreneur Expo 2024,” which opened today at the Moldexpo International Center in Chisinau and will run until Sunday, October 13.

Entrepreneur Expo is the premier event promoting interaction within Moldova’s entrepreneurial community. Organized by the Moldexpo International Exhibition Center in collaboration with the Organization for Entrepreneurship Development, the event features thematic sessions, panel discussions, and B2B meetings. It focuses on developing the industrial sector, integrating with the European market, improving access to finance and entrepreneurial support, and empowering women economically.

Deputy Prime Minister Dumitru Alaiba, Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization, highlighted that small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are a crucial pillar of the Moldovan economy, and their development is a priority for the government. “We are working tirelessly to facilitate their operations by cutting red tape, simplifying reporting, digitizing processes, and providing financial support through various programs. Dear entrepreneurs, we are proud of you! Moldova is gaining greater global recognition thanks to your quality products and innovative ideas. Together, we can build a prosperous future for all,” said Alaiba.

Adam Grodzicki, Deputy Head of the Cooperation Section at the EU Delegation to Moldova, stressed that supporting entrepreneurship and the sustainable development of SMEs is a shared priority for the EU and Moldova. “Through a mix of grants, technical assistance, guarantees, concessional loans, and advisory services, we aim to maximize EU support for SME growth and help build a stronger Moldovan economy. We help SMEs adapt to EU market conditions, enabling them to export goods and compete successfully while complying with EU standards,” Grodzicki explained.

Vadim Codreanu, Director of the Organization for Entrepreneurship Development, noted that Entrepreneur Expo 2024 showcases the talent and innovation of Moldovan entrepreneurs. “This platform not only offers exposure but also provides access to critical resources for growth and internationalization. Supporting SMEs is a priority, and through initiatives like this, we aim to build a stronger, more resilient economy,” Codreanu stated.

Zinaida Popa, Director of the Moldexpo International Exhibition Center, emphasized that Entrepreneur Expo 2024 acts. For example, it serves as a hub for innovators and investors, driving private sector development in Moldova.

Currently, small and medium-sized enterprises in Moldova employ about 65% of the national workforce, meaning 6 out of 10 jobs in the country are created by SMEs.
