In the first half of this year, economic agents from the Transnistrian region directed more than 80% of their exports and 53% of their imports to the European Union.
Bureau of Reintegration Policy, there was an increase in import-export operations with EU member states.
The bureau said, “The suspension of all checkpoints on the central (Transnistrian) section of the Moldovan-Ukrainian state border due to the war in Ukraine caused a change in logistics chains and significantly reoriented trade activities in the region towards the European Union markets. It also strengthened internal trade ties with the right bank of the Dniester, reinforcing the economic and logistical link between the two banks.”

Thus, the export of economic agents from the Transnistrian region to the EU countries amounted to more than 80 percent, a new record high since the signing of the Association Agreement with Moldova. In 2023, this indicator amounted to more than 70%.
Transnistria has preserved import and trade ties with the EU, reaching a 53% indicator.
The main directions to the EU chosen by economic agents of Transnistria remained: Romania, Poland, Czech Republic, Italy, Bulgaria, Germany, Slovakia, France, Latvia, Austria and others.
