Moscow’s reaction to the blocking of Russian websites in Moldova: “They have elections. Disconnect Russia…”

Moscow reacted to the Moldovan Information and Security Service’s request to block seven Russian websites. Leonid Kalashnikov, chairman of the State Duma’s CIS Relations Committee, believes authorities decided in anticipation of upcoming elections.

“Chisinau is trying to “disconnect” Russia before the presidential elections in Moldova. They are solving their problems. When they needed earlier, they calmly used our TV channels,” Kalashnikov told Ria.

The Information and Security Service of the Republic of Moldova (ISS) has told electronic communication service providers to block access to seven Russian websites. According to the authorities, the content they publish threatens our country’s national security.
