Alexandru Munteanu stated that the government program was developed based on the one presented by the Party of Action and Solidarity (PAS) during the electoral campaign. He described it as a framework document that will later be adjusted.
The designated prime minister explained that the project was prepared within a short timeframe to make it easily accessible to everyone. At the same time, he emphasized that there should be no reason for anyone to oppose the principles outlined in the program.
“We decided to make the current program concise so that everyone can read it. It is ten pages long and essentially a framework based on the program of the party that received the mandate from the majority of our citizens — a program that, I hope, most of the population supports. It addresses very clear goals: joining the European Union, ensuring economic growth, improving the social well-being of the population, and strengthening resilience and security. I also asked our colleagues — potential partners from the opposition — whether they agree with these goals. I do not see why anyone would disagree with the objectives we have set.
We are now working on specific measures. We could have produced a 300-page program, but I do not think that was necessary. Now we need to continue working and supplement the framework I presented yesterday with concrete measures. Hopefully, once the new government is invested, we will continue this process,” Munteanu stated.
On Wednesday, the designated prime minister held consultations with parliamentary factions. The opposition criticized the presented program, describing it as vague and lacking specific measures, implementation timelines, and budgetary details.
