The designated government led by Alexandru Munteanu plans to gradually raise the minimum salary from 5,500 lei to 10,000 lei and increase the average salary from 16,000 lei to 25,000 lei, while boosting productivity and economic growth.

In the chapter “Care for Everyone” of the governing program, the Cabinet pledges to implement social policies that reduce inequality and improve citizens’ quality of life. Key measures include:

• Employing at least 100,000 people;

• Extending the monthly child care allowance of 1,000 lei to more families and creating 5,000 new nursery places;

• Increasing pensions and signing new international pension agreements;

• Expanding by 30% the number of beneficiaries of social and care services for the elderly, children, and adults with disabilities;

• Providing annual one-time financial aid to families raising children with disabilities;

• Launching professional integration and support programs for people with disabilities employed in specialized enterprises.

“A healthy economy must translate into better lives for people — with higher salaries and pensions, secure jobs, and accessible social services. No one should be left behind,” the Munteanu government program states.

According to a Realitatea vox pop, Moldovans believe a monthly income of 20,000 lei ensures a decent standard of living, while pensioners should receive at least 5,000 lei to live comfortably. Citizens also said the new government should prioritize economic, social, cultural, and educational reforms, expressing hope that Prime Minister-designate Alexandru Munteanu will deliver real change and focus on people’s needs, not just economic figures.
