New Direct Kyiv–Ungheni–Bucharest Train to Launch on October 10

A new direct international train connecting Kyiv, Ungheni, and Bucharest North will begin operating on October 10, 2025, according to the CFR . The initiative aims to strengthen railway links between Romania and Ukraine as regional cooperation deepens.

The international train IR 99/401 will depart Kyiv at 06:30 and arrive in Bucharest North the next day at 06:47, with its first journey scheduled for the night of October 10–11. On the return route, train IR 402/100 will leave Bucharest North at 19:10 and reach Kyiv the following day at 19:34, beginning operations on the night of October 11–12.

A four-berth sleeping compartment ticket between Bucharest North and Kyiv will cost €73.40.
