Nicu Popescu will go to the NATO summit in Vilnius: the Alliance will adopt a declaration on Moldova

Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration (MFAEI) Nicu Popescu will take part in the NATO summit in Vilnius. The event will take place early next week.

The ministerial meeting will be chaired by Alliance Deputy Secretary General Mircea Geoana. As a result of the event, a joint declaration of the block on our country will be adopted.

The meeting will also be attended by the foreign ministers of Georgia and Bosnia. As for the position of the Republic of Moldova, it will be included in the final declaration of the summit.

The head of the Estonian government, Kaja Kallas, said in a recent interview for Free Europe that the decision to join NATO belongs exclusively to Moldova. At the same time, according to her, our country received the status of a candidate for EU membership because it is located next to Ukraine.
