Romanian President Nicusor Dan said that Moldova accession to the European Union represents one of the main ways to bring the Republic of Moldova and Romania closer. He stressed that Russian destabilization attempts affect both countries and emphasized that Moldova remains an essential foreign policy priority for Bucharest.
The Romanian president said that Moldova EU accession serves as a tool for economic development, modernization, and countering external interference, according to caleaeuropeana.ro. He made the statements while presenting Romania foreign policy objectives.
Nicusor Dan said that Romania cannot remain indifferent to the fate of a state where the Romanian language is spoken and shared. He added that every political and administrative decision and every high level or technical meeting must contribute to bringing the two countries closer, within the European family. He emphasized that European integration represents one of the ways for Moldova and Romania to move forward together.
The Romanian president concluded that the authorities in Bucharest will continue to act as a reliable partner for Chisinau within the EU NATO US framework.
