No Moldovan Citizens Involved in Kartal Hotel Fire, Confirms MFA

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) announced today that no Moldovan citizens have been reported involved in the fire at the Kartal Hotel in the Kartalkaya ski resort, Bolu province, Turkey. Representatives of the Moldovan Embassy in Ankara are closely monitoring the situation and maintaining constant communication with local authorities to ensure the safety of all Moldovan citizens.

The MFA expressed deep regret over the tragedy that occurred this morning.

“The fire caused devastating consequences, claiming 66 lives and injuring 51 others. The Ministry extends its heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims, as well as to the authorities and people of Turkey during this difficult time. Intervention teams faced significant challenges, including the hotel’s cliffside location and adverse weather conditions. But they carried out intense rescue efforts and extinguished the fire in approximately 10 hours,” the statement read.
