Following the latest incidents in the defense sector, resignations may follow, although officials have not yet clarified who could lose their positions. Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu implied this possibility during discussions with the press.

The speaker revealed that the victim in the tragedy in Cahul may have known the person who fired the gunshot personally or may even have been related to him. At the same time, Grosu said the individual responsible acted with serious negligence by handling a weapon in the presence of a minor.

When journalists asked about the possible resignation of Defense Minister Anatolie Nosatii, Igor Grosu replied that “this is exactly what the Russians are waiting for. They send a drone, hoping that every day we will fire someone. That will not be the solution,” the official stressed.

Last week, a minor died at a military unit in Cahul after a serviceman fired a weapon. The child had been visiting an acquaintance. Following the incident, opposition parties demanded the resignation of the defense minister. Anatolie Nosatii later told journalists that he does not intend to resign.

A few days after the tragedy, a drone crossed Moldova’s airspace from north to south during Russian attacks against Ukraine. Representatives of opposition parliamentary factions now want to summon Anatolie Nosatii for another round of hearings.
