Oleg Condrea — screenwriter, director, animator, and professor at Ion Creanga State Pedagogical University — has won the Grand Prize at Cannes for the second consecutive year for his short films Tangled Tails and Echoes of the Ringing Bells. Today, Parliament congratulated the artist, with Speaker Igor Grosu highlighting his contribution to Moldova’s international recognition.
“I welcomed Oleg Condrea to Parliament with great joy. Talented, visionary young people from Moldova are making our country known far beyond its borders. Moldova can!” said Grosu.
Between December 2023 and May 2024, Condrea’s films earned more than 80 international awards at prestigious festivals in New York, Florence, Berlin, Paris, and London.

Also today, the Speaker met with young members of a Moldovan video game development studio that recently won the Best Game award at the Nordic Game expo.
Grosu emphasized that Moldova’s youth continue to prove their immense creative potential and their ability to shine on global cultural and technological stages.
