Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu today highlighted 10 key achievements of the Moldovan government in 2025, including securing the largest financial package the country has ever received from the European Union, totaling €1.9 billion.
Grosu also noted the completion of the Energy Independence Line connecting Vulcănești and Chișinău, as well as 202 projects under the European Village II programme.
“This year, we saw the highest number of students choosing to study at Moldovan universities. We also introduced free meals for children in grades V to IX,” Grosu said.
Authorities allocated 3.2 billion lei to road infrastructure in 2025. “We launched an extensive local road rehabilitation programme, Europe is Close, through which we will finance 579 projects,” Grosu added.
The speaker also highlighted Moldova’s accession to the Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA) as a major milestone.
“We also succeeded in including the Cobza in the UNESCO heritage list. Together with you, we regained a pro-European parliamentary majority, which will secure our path toward joining the European Union,” Grosu said.
Looking ahead, Moldovan authorities plan to continue implementing initiatives and programmes in 2026, focusing on economic growth, completion of energy and infrastructure projects, increasing citizens’ incomes, and advancing the EU accession process.
