People from all over the world united to help the family of Eugeniu Matcin, a 31-year-old Moldovan diaspora man living now in Illinois who tragically drowned in the Milwaukee River last Sunday. So far, at the “Gofundme,” more than 35 thousand dollars have been collected.

Although the organizers of the collection planned to collect the amount of 25 thousand dollars, people did not remain indifferent to the misfortune of Eugene’s family and continued to transfer money to support his wife and two young children.

“We are raising money for Dumitrita Matcin and her two young children whose father, Eugeniu, tragically drowned Sunday, January 28th. Dumitrita is a stay-at-home mother, so in the midst of grieving, the family is faced with the immediate financial burden of bills and mortgage payments. The goal of this GoFundMe with a goal of $25,000 to enable the family to remain in their home while they navigate this transition.

Eugene Matchin is a native of Moldova. He was born in Chisinau and received his university degree at the Technical University of Moldova. Afterward, he moved to the United States, where he resided in Lake Zurich, Illinois, until now. After Eugene tragically drowned, his wife will rase two young children alone.
