The year 2023 ended with a notable success for Moldovan apple producers, who conquered the Swedish market spectacularly. In the first 11 months of this year, exports of Moldovan apples to Sweden reached an impressive 340 tonnes, ranking second in the top of exports to the European Union. Liliana Gutan, Moldovan Ambassador to the Kingdom of Sweden, announces this in a Facebook post.
At the beginning of the year, the Swedish market seemed to be a real challenge for Moldovan producers, but thanks to perseverance and determination, they managed to make their mark and attract the attention of Swedish consumers.
“Another major achievement is the quality of the apples, most of which are certified according to the highest organic standards! This success would not have been possible without the hard work of the Embassy of Moldova to Sweden, Norway, Finland, and Iceland team, which implemented the “FromAid2Trade” strategy to advance trade diplomacy and strengthened the key partnership with the National Board of Trade Sweden,” Liliana Gutan said.
