The National Bank of Moldova (NBM) is launching a new commemorative coin, Book Day, into numismatic circulation today, completing the Others series.
The commemorative coin is made of silver, has a nominal value of 50 lei, and a mintage of 600 units. The NBM is launching it on Moldova’s National Day of Reading. Neli Turcanu designed the Book Day coin.
The coin comes in a transparent methacrylate capsule and a presentation box, accompanied by a certificate of authenticity with a QR code linking to the National Bank’s website for details about the coin’s characteristics. The Governor of the National Bank of Moldova signs the certificate.

The National Bank of Moldova sells the commemorative coins to the public through online requests submitted on the NBM website under the Coin section and through licensed banks in Moldova. Licensed banks may set their selling prices for jubilee and commemorative coins, but the price cannot exceed three percent of the rate set by the National Bank of Moldova.
