Governor of the National Bank of Moldova (BNM), Anca Dragu, welcomed Her Majesty Margareta, Custodian of the Romanian Crown, and His Royal Highness Prince Radu during their visit to Chisinau — a symbolic event that emphasized the enduring historical and cultural ties between Romania and Moldova.
The visit underscored continued royal support for Moldova’s European aspirations. “This visit reconfirms a fundamental truth: the ties between Romania and the Republic of Moldova are not only about the past but also about a shared future,” said Anca Dragu.
Prince Radu praised Moldova’s resilience and dignity, stating that the country earns admiration by consistently standing tall: “One of the reasons we admire Moldova today is the courage, responsibility, and dignity with which it asserts itself in all circumstances.”

As part of the visit, the royal delegation attended the striking of a commemorative coin using a 16th-century press and received the symbolic “Martisor” coin as a token of friendship. The BNM also inaugurated its first Book of Honor, where the royals left a message of encouragement and admiration. It marks their second visit to the BNM since its founding in 1991.
