Poland Reaffirms Firm Support for Moldova’s EU Integration at Chisinau Parliamentary Assembly

Poland once again confirmed its strong support for Moldova’s path toward European integration during the 10th anniversary session of the Moldova-Poland Parliamentary Assembly held in Chisinau. The co-chairs of the Assembly, Doina Gherman and Marek Tomasz Hok, signed a joint declaration to confirm both countries’ shared commitment to Moldova’s EU path.

Doina Gherman emphasized Poland’s consistent solidarity and political support.

“The 10th Session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Republic of Moldova and the Republic of Poland took place in Chisinau. It was a good opportunity to thank Poland’s solidarity, consistent political support, and endorsement of our European path,” she said.

Over the past 15 years, Poland financed 264 projects in Moldova, contributing around 15 million euros. In the last three years, Polish authorities tripled the support and offered direct budgetary assistance. Polish importers strengthened trade ties by purchasing the largest share of Moldovan fruits and nuts globally. As a result, trade volume between the two countries grew by 13% in 2024.

Poland and the EU Parliament approved the €1.9 billion Moldova Growth Plan during the presidency of the EU Council and formalized the agreement in Chisinau.

Gherman expressed gratitude for Poland’s political, diplomatic, financial, and practical backing. “With those who wish us well by our side, we are getting ever closer to our European future,” she stated.

Through this session, Moldovan and Polish lawmakers reinforced their strategic partnership and advanced Moldova’s European aspirations.
