Popan, who allegedly participated with Gutul in the illegal financing of political parties, is placed under judicial control

The Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office announced that the court placed a former Shor Party secretary under judicial control for 60 days. According to Telegram channels linked to fugitive oligarch Ilan Shor, the person in question is Svetlana Popan.

“The Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office informs that today, the court partially approved the prosecutor’s request for a preventive measure. Instead of pre-trial detention, the court placed the secretary from the former Shor Party’s Central Office under provisional release with judicial control for 60 days, subject to specific restrictions and obligations,” stated the prosecutors.

Prosecutors claim that Popan worked with Evghenia Gutul to unlawfully fund political parties operating under Ilan Shor’s covert control. Authorities also received multiple alerts from state institutions indicating that the suspect may have tried to evade criminal prosecution.
