“Post of Moldova” Suspends Package Shipments to the United States Starting 25 August

The State Enterprise “Post of Moldova announced that, as of 25 August 2025, it will temporarily cease accepting postal shipments containing goods—including packages, parcels, and EMS—to the United States.

The suspension follows the Executive Order signed on July 30, 2025, by U.S. President Donald J. Trump, which will take effect on August 29, 2025. The order removes the customs duty exemption for parcels valued under $800 and imposes new taxation rules for all international shipments.

Moldovan packages will be subject to a temporary fee of $160 per parcel, followed by an ad valorem tax according to the IEEPA rate. Shipments containing documents or letters will continue under current procedures.
