On Friday, October 31, President Maia Sandu met with Maria Luís Albuquerque, European Commissioner for Financial Services and the Capital Markets Union, to discuss ways to deepen economic and financial cooperation between the Republic of Moldova and the European Union as the country advances its European integration process.
Both leaders welcomed Moldova’s accession to the Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA), a move that enables fast and secure transfers between Moldova and EU countries while reducing costs for citizens and businesses.
President Sandu highlighted the need to strengthen Moldova’s financial market and attract foreign investment, underlining these measures as crucial for the sustainable development of the national economy.
