President Maia Sandu met His Majesty King Charles III today during her working visit to the United Kingdom.
During their meeting, President Sandu thanked the United Kingdom for its continued support of Moldova’s democratic path.
“I thank His Majesty King Charles III for the warm welcome at his residence in Sandringham. The support of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland gives us the confidence to move forward decisively on the path of democracy,” said President Sandu.

President Sandu is visiting the United Kingdom from July 23 to 24, 2025, to deepen bilateral relations between the two countries. As part of her visit, she met British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and other senior officials. She will meet members of the Moldovan Diaspora in Northampton, a town in central England with an active Moldovan community.
The visit aims to strengthen the partnership between Moldova and the United Kingdom through cooperation in economic development, the rule of law, anti-corruption efforts, and national security.
