On July 23–24, President Maia Sandu will make a working visit to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. During the visit, the head of state will be received by His Majesty King Charles III and will hold meetings with other senior British officials.
President Sandu will also meet with members of the Moldovan diaspora in Northampton—a city in central England known for its vibrant Moldovan community that plays an active role in the region’s social and economic life.
The visit aims to strengthen the partnership between the Republic of Moldova and the United Kingdom, with a focus on cooperation in areas such as economic development, the rule of law, anti-corruption efforts, and national security. The United Kingdom remains a key supporter of Moldova’s European integration and a committed partner in advancing democratic reforms and enhancing the country’s resilience to external threats.

In her meetings with British officials, President Sandu will also discuss expanding Moldovan exports, attracting foreign investment, and securing continued support for democratic institution-building and Moldova’s response to regional challenges.
