Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova Alexandru Munteanu is in Bucharest on Thursday, marking his first official foreign visit since taking office.
Before departure, the Prime Minister posted a video message on Facebook, announcing his trip to the Romanian capital alongside his team:
“We are going together with the team to Bucharest. We have many projects to discuss. We are doing good things together for the citizens on both sides of the Prut River,” he said.
In the morning, Prime Minister Munteanu will be received at Cotroceni Palace by Romanian President Nicușor Dan. Later, he will hold meetings at the Parliament with Senate President Mircea Abrudean and Chamber of Deputies President Sorin Grindeanu.
The official welcoming ceremony by Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. at Victoria Palace. The two heads of government will have a private meeting, followed by a plenary session of the delegations, after which Munteanu and Bolojan will deliver joint press statements.
According to the Romanian Government, the discussions will focus on bilateral projects and issues of common interest in the current geostrategic context.
The visit also comes one day before the Republic of Moldova assumes the presidency of the Council of Europe’s Committee of Ministers on November 14, a six-month mandate marking a new stage in Moldova’s European engagement.
In the afternoon, Prime Minister Munteanu will be received at Elisabeta Palace by Her Majesty Margareta, Custodian of the Crown of Romania, and Prince Radu.
