Prime Minister Dorin Recean and European Commissioner for Agriculture Janusz Wojciechowski discussed strengthening Moldova’s agricultural resilience and tackling the challenges faced by its farmers. The government’s communication department reported it.
The Prime Minister highlighted the Moldovan government’s efforts to transform the agricultural sector, noting that state support has consistently increased in recent years. He noted that they have diversified sales markets, and the state continues subsidizing high-value agricultural production.
Recean emphasized that the government will continue to encourage investments in agriculture and boost productivity, stressing the sector’s importance in Moldova’s EU accession talks. He reiterated Moldova’s request for the European Union to create a development and solidarity fund to support agriculture, which has been affected by recent climate changes.
