On Romanian Language Day, Prime Minister Dorin Recean inaugurated the Republic of Moldova Day at World Expo in Osaka, Japan, highlighting the country’s culture, tourist attractions, and investment opportunities at this prestigious international event.
In his address to exhibitors and visitors, Recean noted that the Moldovan pavilion shares the story of a people proud of their heritage and confident in their future. He added that over 400,000 visitors from Japan and around the world have already explored the pavilion.
“The Infinite Table – a symbol of our legendary hospitality – invites everyone to discover Moldova’s authentic tastes, while the wine corner showcases our treasures, appreciated by connoisseurs worldwide,” Recean said.
The Prime Minister emphasized the strong partnership between Moldova and Japan, highlighting Japan’s support for Moldova’s European integration. “Moldova and Japan share the same vision: dialogue, cooperation, and respect for rules form the foundation of peace. We are grateful for Japan’s support of Moldova’s European path. Japanese technology and expertise help modernize our agriculture, infrastructure, and public services,” he added.

Recean also pointed out that Moldovan products, especially wine and organic goods, are gaining recognition in the Japanese market. He invited Japanese investors to explore opportunities in renewable energy, digital innovation, modern infrastructure, and agriculture, noting that Moldova can serve as a reliable platform and gateway to the EU’s single market of 400 million people.
State Minister of Economy, Trade, and Industry of Japan, Yuichiro Koga, praised Moldovan wine, saying, “In recent years, Moldovan wine made from the best grape varieties grown on the fertile vineyards of the Republic of Moldova has gained popularity in the Japanese market.” He expressed confidence that the pavilion will help promote Moldova’s image in Japan and worldwide.
The Republic of Moldova pavilion at Expo Osaka 2025 immerses visitors in the country’s culture. Guests explore Moldovan crafts, taste local wines and dishes, try on traditional costumes, virtually visit tourist locations, and discover investment opportunities.
Artists Violeta Botezatu, Cezar Moldovan, Eugen Negruta, and Pasha Parfeni performed during the cultural program for Moldova Day, alongside the Fluieraș folk dance ensemble and the contemporary dance duo Alexandra Soșnicova and Serghei Golovnea.
The organizers of the World Expo in Osaka, held every five years, gather ideas and projects that can change the world. This year, over 150 countries participate, and organizers expect around 28 million visitors over six months. The Expo runs until October 13, 2025.
